Question 2009 Impala LS AC issues --- Need Advice

Ok... so my Impala has an AC issue. One night as I was driving home from work I was using the ac and realized the AC wasn't blowing cold at all (when it was working fine earlier that day). I turned it off then on and could hear the compressor turn on and off but still no cold air. Then the next morning I was going to work and it works fine no issues ice cold... and has worked fine for 2 months. I was using the heater one morning then went to use the AC on the way home and it wouldn't blow cold at all. And again you can hear that the compressor does engage... It didn't miraculously start working the next day... a few days later I messed with the controls and turned the temp. all the way up then back down and heard the doors move then decided to have the fan blow with the ac (snowflake) off but had it in recycle mode... It blew cold. Now it works weather or not the AC is on but only on recycle mode... I have an 2009 Impala LS with about 77000 miles on it... What could it be and will it be expensive?

It almost sounds like multiple issues going on, but like you said you were messing with the controls, put it in recycle mode and it started to work. It could be anything from the control module that the temperature and function ***** connect to, to the actuators in the dash not responding properly. If you are low are charge the compressor would either not run at all or cycle on and off. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I'm guessing actuators first. Definitely sounds like issues when changing modes.
