Default 2009 Impala UNINTENDED IGNITION KEY ROTATION recall

For those that have had this done, is the original ignition lock cylinder changed or left alone. I have aftermarket switchblade key/remote combos and don't want to have to cut new key blades for them if they change the cylinder.

recall ref # 14v35ooo does not change the lock cylinder. the recall involves gluing an insert into the stock keys to prevent customer from hanging heavy objects from the keychain. if you don't use the stock keys...they can't do the recall. don't hang heavy items from your keys; that is what causes the unintended cylinder rotation.

I've switched to switchblade key remote combos but still have the original keys somewhere. Guess I will have to find them. Or won't they just make you new keys? I need to have the recall done as I don't want any open recalls on a car I'm selling.
