Default 2011 Impala LTZ, ran fine, parked 10 min. Now no start

Impala LTZ 3900 v6, It ran fine, parked at the bank for 10 minutes, tried to start it but it just hits on a few cylinders then dies, but the starter stays engaged for 2-3seconds after turning key back to run position from start position.
my wife's car, she says it had an error message "battery saver activated" for two days (didn't say anything to me, typical) Check Engine on,, tried to pull a code with my cheap reader but nothing. It's in a parking lot and don't have the money for a tow truck or the 100.00+ diagnosis.
just hoping one of you guys might have some helpful info..
Thanks for any ideas

You have to find out if the problem is electrical or fuel related. Try spraying some gas or starter fluid into the throttle body. If it starts and runs for a few seconds then it is fuel related probably a fuel pump. You can also do a fuel pressure check. It's not hard to do but there is no magic answer. You will have to do some investigating.
