My scan tool reads engine, ABS and SRS codes but not body codes. Only place I know that has a tool to read body codes is the dealership. Would probably cost me $300.-400.for them to just read the code. Can not afford that route.

 

Found a unplugged blend vent actuator. Hooked it up and it started clicking so I bought a new one. Installed it and everything is working like it should but still no cold air. When I turn on the a/c power button light stays on,vent switches to recirculate,compressor comes on but no cold air. Its fully charged with freon. Driving me nuts trying to figure this out. I live in Florida and it gets hot and humid real bad here.

 

Tube under the hood from the compressor to firewall should get icy cold if compressor is functioning - is that happening?

if the compressor isn't engaging...nothing will get cold.

 

Tube is not cold. The compressor only is engaging when I run a jumper wire at the compressor relay between pin 30 and 87. Checked freon again today and its in the good range still. Condenser fan is not working. Neither the condenser or radiator fan come on until the temp gauge reaches half way. I noticed the car has 2 sets of cooling fan wires. One set is coiled up behind the right headlight. Both appear to be factory.

 

the pcm controls the relay grd circuit to close the relay. if the pcm control wire is good...its inhibiting compressor operation for a reason. blinking a/c and recirc lights make me suspicious...maybe someone with gm service infor can find what blinking lights means.

 

Pretty much thinking my cars whole a/c system is screwed up.The compressor has started making a rattling knocking noise. Guess I will get another one of my cars going for summer.

 

yep its fubared.
if its run without refrigerant and pag oil for any length of time(ie extended jumpering)the compressor will be destroyed...metal from the compressor could be spread thru the system at this point if its charged and operated.

 

That's another thing I don't understand. It is full of refrigerant and never has even been low.
