502 in a 1970 Chevy Impala engine bay?
Does anyone know if I can swap out a 350 for a 502? Would it be able to fit and would I have to get different parts, i.e. transmission?

I've seen a 502 on a motorcycle so I'm sure it will fit but you may need different engine mounts. Considering the extra power I'd have to say you cannot use your old transmission. Other than that, suspension to hold the extra weight and you better check if your radiatorwill provide enough cooling.

So, basically just look into, radiators, engine mounts, transmission, and suspension. What kind of suspension would you be talking about? (I'm not super-advanced with cars.) Just trying to find something to do with my dad, and I want to be educated in it so I can prove to my dad that I know how to do car stuff, kind of like a father/son project car.

As far as suspension goes, look for front components designed to work with a big block, such as a 396, 427, 454. Does your rear axle have 10 or 12 bolts in the differential cover? The 12 bolt axle is a heavier duty piece and likely a better match for a 502. Is your transmission a turbo 350 or 400? The 400 would be a better choice but there are a lot of performance kits available for the 350.
