Default Aftermarket stereo install problems.

Hey there its my first post and i would like to thank you ahead of time for reading it.

I have 2005 impala 3400, i bought a new aftermarket headunit today and "attempted" to install it in the car, it was after the fact i learned i needed a module to work with the passlock system, "could someone link where i can get that moduel" so i started installing the unit had 90% of the wiring done went to try and turn the key over to make sure the new headunit was working and the igition is Locked. also the steering wheel will not lock i can turn it in both direction all the way. I got the stock stereo back in the car hooked up all the connectors i unhooked and still the same problem, i unhooked the battery for about 30min and hooked it backed up and still the same issues. How do i get my car working again! please feel free to call me an idoiot because i totally deserve it.
