Default Apple Carplay on 2014 Impala

Anyone know the status of this? Will it work, will GM update recent vehicles, has anyone got this to work with a 2014 vehicle?

I think it would be a coupe of years before GM will be ready for Apple CarPlay. This will be more than just a software upgrade, this will need a hardware change as well.

There are only three car companies on board with it at this time, Volvo, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz. Apple claims to be working on future deals with BMW, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Jaguar, Land Rover, Nissan, Subaru & Toyota (Per Autoblog)

Not sure if GM is ready to give up it's lucrative sales of expensive nav units either. With CarPlay, nobody would order the nav option anymore.

Hey guys so I've been searching and searching. NO GM isn't going to update the previous MyLink models, but a better and cheaper solution comes from OME auto parts. They make a 2.5 IO6 module that had Apples CarPlay programmed into it and is super easy to install. Here is the link. Tyler is who will answer all of your questions
