Exclamation Battery draw

Hey guys,

I seem to have a battery draw on my 2007 Chevy Impala SS with 129,000 miles. it goes dead in about 3 days of no use. I do have a aftermarket radio installed by the previous owner. I took the 10 Amp fuse out and the battery does seem to last longer but im not positive.

How do I check for a parasitic draw or is there a common device on the Impala that is known to have a amp draw on the battery?

thanks

You need a digital volt meter. Put it on the battery, remove individual fuse, check if the voltage drop stops, that will pinpoint what device is drawing power. Radio will draw some current, but very little.

ericthecarguy has a good video on how to perform parasitic draw testing.
