Engine hot a/c off

Engine hot a/c off
On really cold days when i turn my car on. I get this warning on the dash that states engine hot; a/c off. The odometer shows cold. I am not sure what this is related to. When the temp warms up, the warning goes off, and odometer moves from cold to mutual. I don not need any antifreeze. Can someone help with this issue??
