engine hot a/c off
#2
What year Impala, what engine?
If you are referring to a dashboard warning indicator, then don't drive the car, especially if the indicator is red as opposed to amber.
"A/c off" is probably advice to keep the a/c off, and running the heater when you absolutely must drive it will help cool the overheated engine. But I wouldn't drive it until the condition is checked by a mechanic. You can do some serious damage (thousand$) to the engine if you drive it overheated.

Lisa23666 Welcome to the forum,
It could mean you are low on coolant, the cooling fan isn't running, the thermostat is stuck, water pump isn't working correctly....
The engine is seeing a temperature condition that is too high....
