Default heater switch

I have a 2000 Impala and I am having a problem with the heater fan switch it it does not work on speed 2. I had gone to a junk yard and got a switch and put that in and it did the same thing. So I took it out and put the original one back in. I had got on another forum and they said it is the resistor so I went advance auto and got a resistor and put that in and it worked for a while and then it would work and then some times it would not. So I took that resistor out and put back the original just to make it work but I am back with not having no.2 speed and some times it works and some times it does not I am lost as what to do to make it work properly? Welcome to the Forum!

It may be a loose harness or wire, but thats just a shot in the dark for me on that one.

Hopefully someone else here can shed some more light on that one. Good Luck!

Blower motor resistor. Make sure you get the right one.

along with the resistor...make sure the terminals in the connector are not black, or have corrosion. If there is any sign of the connector getting hot, or discolouration, replace the connector
