Default Hello Everyone Newbie with question

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone here. I am in Socal and have a 2002 Impala.

My question:

Check engine light is on

Code:

PO135 O2 sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
bank 1 sensor 1

Has anyone had this come up and if so what I am looking at to get it repaired. I have to do the smog next month and have to get this taken care of before I can do that. I got two quotes so far one was for around 215.00 and the other was around 100 to 100 something is what he told me. Both said that they would have to check the car out to verify and give an accurate price. If I am giving them the actual code that comes up I am not sure how an accurate price can't be established.

Thanks for you help

pretty simple job. sounds like it's just one of the oxygen sensors needs replaced. typically, these sensors are $50-$100, depending on brand, place of purchase and such. then it's just a matter of how hard is it for mechanic to get to. if it's a bit difficult, the $215 probably isn't bad. but if it only takes 15-20 mins, then $215 is a bit much.
