Default Help with decision

Hi guys i am going to need a new car around Dec-Feb right now i have a 79 Benz 300SD 380,000 Miles on it. I am looking at the Impala 05-06 Either the one with the 3.5 or 3.9 V6 Liter engine (Whatever i can find for a good price) I was wondering How long do chevys last these days, and how do you like your Impala? I am in between the 05-06 Impala and 05-06 Hyundai Sonota which has a choice of a V4 for V6. I want the V6 because the V4 is to slow at acceleration. 10.6? Secs While the V6 does 0-60 in 6.9 Seconds WOW. Impala does 0-60 in about 8.5. All i care about is a nice reliable car that will last me at least 3-4 years, and has enough power to merge ok. (Better then Turbo Dissel 0-60 in 17.0 Seconds LOL) All the features on cars are about the same. Price is about the same also, However it is a bit harder finding the V6 Sonota right now but probaly latter it will be easier. Just for fun Top speed of Impala is 142, (Wow supprised since it is only 4 gear Auto, I heard its quiet??!) (Sonota is around 150-160 because of extra gear and has 230 HP compared to about 211-225.) Only other thing i like on Sonta is the ability to do manual and Auto, but i was thinking about using OnStar on Chevy is it worth it?
Thanks guys.

Cars: 06 Chevy 211-horsepower and 214 pound-foot of torque at 4000 RPM 3.5L Or mabye 233 Horsepower EPA estimated 21 city and 31 highway MPG 3.9L 240 pound-foot of torque and an EPA estimated 20 city and 29 highway MPG. Difference in gas milage not big deal it depends what i find for a good deal. 0-60 in about 8 Seconds

Vs.
Hyundai Sonota 3.3L Horsepower 235 @ 6000 RPM Torque 226 @ 3500 RPM, 20/30 Gas Milage 0-60 in about 6.9 Seconds.

I only drive about 0.1 miles to work about 5 times a week school 2 miles three times a week, (about 5,000 year) so about 10 miles a week. Mabye will do a road trip with my Dad in Summer to Iowa.

Thanks guys, Brian

Default RE: Help with decision

personally id go with the 06 and newer chevy (preferably an 07 because of the 5 year warenty and $0 deductable in that warrenty). impalas do run a lot, after all they are used as cop cars and taxis so that give you idea as to how long they can run...
