Help please
Hello people ,, my daughter has a 2000 impala with I think the 3800 . A local mech. told her she needs a "Intake Manifold Plenum" ,,,,Ok I have done some mech. work myself in the past . I'm somewhat familiar with older vehicles early 90's and back . So ,what exactly is an intake man. plenum ? Where's it located exactly ? What's it's function ? I am capable of replacing mostly anything . Is this new terminology for the intake itself ?
It's the intake that has the throttle body mounted to it. They are made of plastic and have the injectors mounted inside of it. Since they are made of plastic, they can crack easily if mishandled. Make sure to use new o rings when installing it.
