I have a 2002 Impala LS, just hit 100,000 miles, had the tune up done. It has been running rough for a few day before that. Now, when the car is moving down the road, it just shuts off. Almost like the key was turned off then back on again! The dealer had the vehicle for four days now. They had a fuel pressure Gage attached to see if the fuel pump was bad. Every time it shuts off, they said the pressure was up where it needs to be. They are stumped big time!

Has anyone every had this same kind of problem with their Impala? Thanks for any responses!

 

my car,98 malibu, did the same thing. It was my ignition module. everytime I get moving it just shut off but started right back up.

 

Had this same problem for about two months would mostly happen when I would slow down to make a turn, it would just turn off but it always started right back up, I changed the fuel pressure regulater and it work fine now. The guy said this is a common problem for the impalas. We also have an 02.

 

They replaced the MASS AIR SENSOR. The dealer told me it purring like a kitten now! SHEEEESH! Its only been four weeks!!!I pick it up tomorrow!

 

So far so good! Looks like the MASS AIR SENSOR was the problem. Still running! Thanks for your help!

 

pick up some crc maf sensor cleaner and bout every 15k use it
