Default Impala trunk issue

I just bought a pre-owned 2016 Impala LT. I’ve driven impalas before and I know when you hit the trunk release button it’s supposed to open all the way up on it’s own but for some reason mine will release but I have to give it an extra push for it to go up. It doesn’t seem to be caught on anything. Does anyone know how to fix it? It’s not really a big deal but it would be nice to have that feature if I have my hands full.

I just put some silicone oil on it if that’s the same thing. That didn’t seem to work either.
