Default Leather Seats Uncomfortable

Hi There;

I just picked up my 2019 Impala Premier. It was used but only had 10 000 miles on it. It has the heated/cooled leather seats. I just drove it on a long trip and find the driver's seat to be very uncomfortable. I get a sore rear end and it just feels like it is filled with hard material (I actually sat on a pillow to make it more comfortable). I drove an Impala Premier earlier in the year that was rental, and the seats felt more comfortable. The question is:

- has anyone else experienced this?
- is there any difference in comfort between the heated seats and the heated/cooled seats?
- will the seats get more comfortable over time?

Thanks

hello ronaldamcdonald. When we were shopping for a new car several years ago, we ALMOST NEVER got the 2014 Impala 2LTZ we now have. While I was fine with the car and felt no discomfort from sitting in the seats for some time, my wife would experience pain within 45 minutes of sitting in the car and because of this discomfort we almost never bought it. It too had about 9600 miles on it when we test drove it. On our first test-drive, my wife severely disliked the pain she experienced from the seats (did not matter front or back seats, as both hurt). So we drove back to the dealer and were sorely disappointed. After the test drive, my wife continued to feel discomfort as though her back or something got irritated. A chiropractor visit told us this was sciatica. To help relieve her discomfort, I bought her a pillow she could sit on that was designed to help with sciatica. About 2 months later, we were still car shopping and were just starting to repeat the loop of dealers we had previously visited in search of new stock to look at. The dealer that previously had the Impala where my wife suffered the back pain, had several new cars to try. We then fond out they still had that Impala we had tried. We then wondered if there was some way to swap the seats out. I then thought about doing an experiment with that sciatica pillow I bought my wife. I drove home with the Impala for a test drive and got the pillow and discovered, my wife did not experience the pain she had before. Based on this we bought the car with the hope things would improve, and improve they did. Once we got the car and really started using it, the seats gradually started to soften up an break in such in the same way a new sofa breaks in. After getting the car and my wife using that pillow for about 3 months, she found she could sit in the seats for longer and longer time periods until the pillow was not needed at all. The car now has about 53000 mile son it and my wife just loves the feel and the ride of the car.
