My wife's impala's low oil pressure light flicked on for about 10 seconds going around a turn and then shut off. I checked the oil and it was nearly empty so I added a few quarts and then the light has not turned on again. It turns out the car is seriously overdue for an oil change by 5000 miles (42000) should have changed at 3600. I can get to the shop til tomorrow. Is this just an issue with the lack of an oil change or is it something else? We've been on top of maintenance except for this. thanks

 

Sounds normal for abnormal preventative maintence.
