Default No Drive but Idle OK? huh...

Hey guys,

I have a 2006 Impala...automatic.

All of the sudden today..I go to start my car...seems normal...throw the car in drive, and I have idle, and the car idles ok, except with a bit of vibration. But then when I step on the gas, the tranny does not further engage. Same issue in reverse...I have idle in reverse, but as soon as I give it gas, there is no more engagement.

I also have a bit of extra lower-frequency vibration, but not odd sounds.

Can anyone give some advice?

I am guess either it need to be adjusted, or the master cylinder is bad?

Please help!

Thanks guys,
-Peter

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have a transaxle problem. Did the weather turn cool? Check the transmission fluid level if you can. If it's not that, consider towing it in and getting it serviced.

yes,

well, it is fall now...so the evenings DID cool down a lot, especially some cooler rain. But now it is back up into the 90's.

I'll definately check!

Thanks for the advice!

Does anyone also have any input?

Thanks for the help
