Flushed heater core and replaced radiator cap and defently helped bring the temp down. I was trying the easy stuff before taking ehaust manifold off to test (boil) new thermostat.

Cool. Sound like maybe some scale or something else was disturbed when you changed the thermostat? I've heard of people having overheating issues who removed the block plugs and found them full of the sand used in the molds. I was reading another post about a similar problem and turned out there was a lot of scale that was plugging up the radiator and heater core tubes. I believe they ended up having to flush everything. Removed the block plugs and flushed it. Back flushed the heater core and radiator. Problem was then resolved.

Unless very hard water was put in the cooling system at some point in the past, I don't see it being a scale issue though. Were you able to get any of the junk out the examine what it was?

It appeared the junk that came out was a blob of possible crusty dried coolant. It wasnt alot but something did come out. Also my thermostat was broken underneath the cap. The car is running alot better. Still not blowing EXTREAMLY Hot but its a heck of alot better than what it was and is not overheating.
