Pandora Problem
I am using my Iphone 4 connected to my 2014 Impala My Link. I purchased my car about two weeks ago. I drive 65miles one way to work, 1.25 hours everyday one way. I play Pandora a lot and have been for the last three years.
I thought the Pandora app in MyLink would be wonderful. It plays great but I have noticed that my phone is always very hot after the drive. Also, I the two weeks I have had my car I have now used 75% of my data, so clearly, the cars system is using data like crazy. This explains why my phone is hot when I take out of the arm rest.
Pandora has never used this much data before. I have years of experience with Pandora.
My questions are,
Thanks

My questions are,
- Is there something else in the cars system tapping into my data?
- Is Pandora in My Link really using that much data? After all Pandora is only music and shouldn't be that demanding.
- Is there some way to update the My Link apps, perhaps there is a correction for this problem?
Thanks
Hi, congratulations on new Impala. I am not expert but I will give your questions a go.
1. Your Imapla is tapping into your phone via Bluetooth, including your contacts. Besides that your Pandora should be it.
2. Streaming music can use a lot if data. My niece can go through 2 gigs in just a few days.
3. I am currently checking with te MyLink people to see about possible updates. So far no answer. I assume there will be one soon for the iOS7 InThe Car and other general updates.
Sorry I can't be more help. I will let you know what I find out from the MyLink people as soon as I hear back.
Thanks,
James

Thanks for your response James,
I have been using Pandora for three years almost daily and have never used my 2 gig package, until now. So I suspect that something else is tapping into my data package. It would be great to know what it is so I can try and control it.
I will be watch for the response on the My Link update.
Thanks again.
