Default Really dumb idea: removable hard top 04 Impala

As I've been putting some money into my 04, there's been a thought bouncing around inside my head. Get this: I was thinking of chopping my Impala and making it a removable hard-top.I am considering two methods: targa and T-top.

Obviously, my main concern is structural. Going targa, if I were to strengthen the A pillar and C pillar, i.e. over the windshield and rear window, should that provide ample integrity? And if I were to just T-top it, it seems that a modified T bar would be safe as well.

Keep in mind I'm not a harsh driver and I'm not planning to roll my car. But I'd like to be 100% sure I do this right.

Other than the structural stuff, it seems like a fairly easy and straightforward job to chop the roof and B pillar. I know it's not practical, but I love my Impala and this would be a really great way to increase versatility and get some looks in the process.

Let me know what you guys think! I also want to know which you think would look better, if they're both viable options.

That's the thing, I wonder how hard that reinforcement would be, or if it would be worth it at all. I did my best to look, but didn't see any mods like that at all.

when you buy a convertible they tend to weigh more than a non-convertible of the same model
