Default Stuck Accelerator/Floor Mat? 2003 Impala

I apologize if this issue has been discussed and resolved for another user. I searched around and couldn't quite find a similar example to what happened last night. I checked the recall info and found the floor mat notification, so it's likely I have my culprit.

Last night, I left work and got onto a nearby highway. The highways in Denver are generally stop and go during rush hour. I moved toward the left lane, and I did not have my foot in the accelerator. I noticed my car wasn't slowing, but going faster. The speedometer read 70MPH, and my accelerator was pressed to the floor.

I managed to pull over to the shoulder. On the shoulder, I pressed the brake as hard as I could, finally slowing down the car enough to throw it into neutral, then into park. Pretty sure my brakes weren't too thrilled about that. I shut the car off, and when I turned the car back on, everything was fine.

During the time my car was shut off, I thought to check the floor mat, which was wedged a little higher than normal. Is this my culprit? I'd be happy to give more information, if needed. Thanks to any and all advice/help!
