K5 Blazer 1969-1994
While this model ended its run, it is not uncommon to see them on the road or off, years after production end.

Default High idle problems

Hello everyone,

I have a 84 K5 4x4, 305 engine. The other day while driving down the interstate at about 70 mph, I heard a pop and the engine died. I was able to coast to the side of the road. I re-started the blazer and it ran like the throttle was stuck. Since I was only 2 miles from home I drove it home. I have checked the throttle and it is not stuck, but the engine revs very fast now with the blazer in P. Any suggestions?
