K5 Blazer1969-1994
While this model ended its run, it is not uncommon to see them on the road or off, years after production end.
Platform: Truck, GMT 400
So I got a 82 k5 blazer/jimmy and the floors are completely gone. I chopped up the whole rear section and got most of the rot out. Pretty much the outside shell is good but the floors like I said are gone. I wedged some pt deck boards in under the rear wheel wells to keep the body up. But I was just curious as to what anyone had for ideas. Could I build a wood floor for the body to sit on? Should I chop the rear body off and build a wood bed? Or is the wood bed a bad idea and should I just save up for The
complete floor? What do you guys Think.

It's kind of hard to judge by looking at pictures but IMHO it looks more like a parts truck then a salvageable road worthy vehicle
Nothing wrong with keeping a parts truck around if you have a few other similar ones like I do , or sharing the parts with the commuity
of square body addicts by keeping the truck out of wrecker's hands
Square bodies are getting scarce , you might even find someone that will take the whole truck especially if it drives by placing
a nation/state wide ad online
One of my square body 4x4 had a rotten box which I removed and turned into a flat bed for use around the property
With some agressive 31" tires it chews through the mud in spring and fall in the bush where we harvest wood for our woodstove
Fabricating a rear panel to hold up the rear window and a flat bed is doable given enough time plus tools and knowledge
What is that sticking out of the front under the bumper , snowplow attachement ?
I have a 71 Blazer that is coming along but has significant rust along the bottom of the doors, rocker panels and floor pan. LMC trucks does not have the floor panel on stock so seeking thoughts on where to find a high quality source?
interested in doors if in excellent condition as well.
