While this model ended its run, it is not uncommon to see them on the road or off, years after production end.

Default K5 Mechanic Needed in Los Angeles

Hey there, recently purchased a 1987 K5 and I want to do an engine swap. Has the original 350 in it in good shape, I just want something newer with better emissions. Having hard time finding a mechanic in LA that says they can do this. Any suggestions? I'd be willing to trade my existing original small block for the help. Cheers!

We mostly deal with the repairs of Chevrolet vehicles here. If you don't like your 1987 K5 Blazer you can update to a new one which looks like an SUV piece of garbage to me. But then I actually use four-wheel drive. Most SUV owners that have it for snowy, icy conditions, not for mudding or anything else that takes a taller 4WD.to do.

Then have the motor rebuilt or do it yourself. I have no idea what you expect at this point,
