I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu runs good but has hesitations while driving it. DTC P0404 and P1404 are presented every drive even If I erase them.
The Codes indicate that my EGR Valve is either Stuck open or closed.

Took My Egr Valve off inspected it, it seemed clean. I hooked up a 9 volt small sqaure battery to it it seemed to be working properly. I replaced Purge Solenoid (the one next to EGR) and The Purge Solenoid down by the Evap box under the rear of the car.

I thought maybe I had a Vacuum Leak I found a crack on my lower intake manifold from somone tighting the bolt to tight so i replaced lower intake and upper intake with all new gaskets.

Took off Catalytic converter replaced it with another i had nothing seemed to change code is still their.

any ideas?

 

It seems I may have an electrical issue I tested the red wire labled E for power it did not have any power what so ever it should read 10 to 12 volts DC. Gonna track down where this wire lost power. I'll keep you updated.
