Default 07 Malibu MAXX - Wierd Tranny Issue - Dealer has no clue after a week

The problem in a nutshell, when staying at a constant speed, the tranny will shift and max out RPM. If let off gas, tranny would shift back to correct gear and RPM would come back to normal.

This problem started last week. The engine light came on, and I immediatly took the car to the dealer (didnt notice anything as far as drivability. Drove approx 5-10mins, 2 miles after light came on).. Dealer said they could look at it that afternoon. I dorve the car home. During the drive back to the dealership, the tranny symptoms started (noticed while driving 40-45 mph). This was on May 14

After not hearing anything, I called the dealer near close of business on May 15. The Dealer said it was an electronic control module for the tranny. They had to order the part and it would be delivered May 19.

After not hearing anything, I called again May 21 (today) at close of business. They said they replaced the module. It fixed the tranny symptoms, but it was still throwing a code (refused to tell me what code). They then said that their "transmisson guy" has been looking at it and has no idea what the issue was, but it was probably "internal".

So now a week, no vehicle.. Dealer has tried to get me to pick up the vehicle each time I called. I refused as I dont want to void the warrenty issue. To make the situation even better, I was susposte to be driving from Texas (where I currently am) to California the day the car went into the shop (that Im now a week behind on)...

Should I just pick up the car and drive back home and take it to my home dealer?? I know its had to really do anything without knowing the trouble code, but any advise would be great!!

--edit--
Could this be an electrical issue?? There is a decent system in the car (JVC KW-NX7000 DVD Nav HU, BT, Sat Radio, HD Radio, 4 x 150watt @ 4ohm, 1 x 700watt @ 2 ohm bridged, 6SX Crossover, Nintendo Wii)..

nothing like bumpin Mario Kart while driving down the road

I called the dealer today again to find out anything new on the issue... I was told their "transmission" person never had a chance to look at the vehicle and there were 4 other cars in line in front of mine. I let them know that I was susposte to be back in California (im curently in West Texas) last week.. They said they would do a road test today to see if the transmission could handle the 1400 mile trip and to call back near close of business........

If I did get the car back and something does happen on the trip, would I have any options?? More specificially, would the issue still be covered under warrenty and not be considered "neglect" on my part?
