1998 Malibu Instrument Cluster Question

Good morning,
I am troubleshooting the fuel level sending unit and the gage on the
instrument console. In the FSM, the trouble shooting instructions tell the
technician to perform an "Instrument Cluster WOW" test that is outlined in
an area known as "Special Instructions". I have spent many hours digging
around this three volume set to no avail, just can't find the instructions.
Does this model have an internal gage test function where you depress
the trip odometer and turn the key on to begin the test? I am hoping to
verify the integrity of the gage with an onboard test, but am really interested
in the term "WOW", not to be confused with "WOT" wide open throttle.
See attachment, reference Fuel Gage, step 1.
Thank you,
Posted second attachment containing definition of WOW. No further
help required. FYI
