2001 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 148000 miles

Hey Guys. My car is making a loud click or knock whenever I make a turn and it doesn't matter which way I'm turning. I notice it most when I am backing out of my driveway with the wheels turned as I am pulling out onto the road. It's only a single loud knock. I'm thinking it's the CV joints, but I want to be absolutely positive befire I fix it.

And if it is the CV joint, what is the best way to figure out which one it is?

Make sure that your K fraim is not rusted out at the steering rack. I have replaced two Malibu K fraims for this noise in this pass year. Not a bad job to do.
