Default 2001 Malibu LS-getting too hot

Hoping the expertise of all the moderators and readers can help me solve this. The temp gauge on my 2001 malibu LS will constantly rise up to the 3/4 mark or slightly higher but not into the red zone. Ive changed the upper and lower hoses, the temp sensor, coolant fluid. I get heat and a/c with no problem. The 2 rad fans will both come on. Any ideas?

Have you changed the thermostat? It could be partially stuck closed. After that you just have the water pump left. Also did you flush the cooling system when you changed the coolant?

Thanks...that was next on my list to do, but it looks like the inlet is really difficult to get to and requires remving some fixed metal coolant lines? has anyone donethis before on a 6cyl 01 mailbu LS?

I have replaced temp sensor, but make sure you put plumbers tape or some sort of sealant when you put it back to contain any leaks.
