Hello all,

Ok my mother has a 2002 Malibu v6. It is confusing both me and my father ( a mechanic of 30+ years.) It runs like crap i.e. no power from a light. you give it gas and it is VERY slow to accelerate, also you pretty much have to avoid hills because it drops down to maybe 10mph, it wont even get fast enough to get on the interstate, its max speed is like 50mph, unless going downhill. If you punch it you can hear the engine get louder but no rpm movement and you lose speed instead of gaining it. WE hav changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, EGr valve, plugs, wires, coil packs, and mas airflow sensor. We have ran injector cleaner through the gas multiple times. Also u hear what would sound like low oil ticking, its not major, but its there. PLEASE HELP =[

 

Un bolt the exhaust at the manifold and drive it. I suspect the cat is clogged.

 

That is what we were told maybe.... 3 days ago. Just have to get a chance to try it. Thank you for the suggestion will report back after we do try it.

 

well it was the cat! it was clogged to all hell and back =] ty for the help =]
