I have an '03 Malibu LS that is having a heat and ac problem. I cannot get any air/heat to blow unless I turn the thermostat up to 4. Nothing comes out on 1, 2, or 3. Firestone has told me the entire heat and ac control unit needed replacing. I did that and it still does not work. When my air is on, every now and then, hot air will just start blowing and the green ac button goes off and then it will come back on and blow cold air.

Also, when sitting still with the air on, my compressor is constantly kicking on and off causing my car to "jump" forward.

Anybody else had this problem? What was your solution?

Please help.

 

My 03 Mali has the same thing going on I just leave it on 4 then turn it down to 3 when I get the right tempurature
