Default 2005 Malibu Cruise Control not working...

I attempted to use my cruise control this weekend to no avail! It worked a few weeks ago, no problem, but mysteriously no longer works.

When I turn the "on" button on (on the left side of the steering wheel), the button lights up as normal. However, when I hit "set" nothing happens!

As I said, it worked fine a few weeks ago, when I last used it. I am having no other problems (the speedometer seems to be working as normal). I checked the fuse, but it looks fine. I do plan on changing it out today, just in case, but I suspect that won’t help.

Any suggestions on diagnosing the problem? I plan on taking a decently long trip around Christmas, and not having cruise control will make me a sad panda!

Thanks,

Marilove

Check and see if all your brake lights are working.

All break lights are working. Also checked the turn signal lights and those are working fine as well. It's a mystery!

Unfortuantely, the throttle in this vehicle is drive-by-wire. Meaning there is no physical connection between the gas pedal and the throttle. So the cruise operate all electronically. I'll post the wiring diagram so you might be able to track down the problem but you may save a few grey hairs by taking it into the dealer as they should be able to diagnose the problem a lot quicker using the tech2.
