safety recalls cover the car not owner. gm is still liable if something happens unless they offer to fix the issue for free.

mine is a 04 classic not the standard 04, so there is no kick panel, like ya see in the images, but im looking around for it,

EDIT: under the glove box plastic panel, is where the bcm is located
