Does anyone know how to bypass the hood switch for the remote start.
Disconecting it does not work jumping two of the three wires on the wire harrness does not work.The remote start stopped working took it to the dealer for a diagnostice. Was told the hood switch was bad. They want $125.00 for the switch plus an hours labour. I would like to bypass the switch.
Also once you have tried to remote start twice how do you clear it so you can try it again.

 

No way, it sends a signal to the PCM. Go to a online supplier, get it cheaper and you install.
To reset do a key start.

 

try connecting the black and purple wires together

 

I did try jumping those 2 wires it did not work. I thought the switch might send a message to the computer. I will try to find a switch on line but am having trouble finding someone who shipps to Canada. I whish the switch would have gone when the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US.
