Default 2005 classic

two days ago, my change oil light came on my 05classic malibu. I brought it directly to get an oil change, and everything checked out okay, except the light is still on. Is there a way to reset it?

As stated in your owners manual:

How to Reset the Engine Oil Life System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change the engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Whenever the oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where the oil is changed prior to a CHANGE OIL SOON message being turned on, reset the system.
After changing the engine oil, reset the system:
[ol]With the engine off, turn the ignition key to ON/RUN.
Press and hold both the INFO and reset buttons for at least one second to access the personalization menu and display the OIL LIFE RESET message.
Press and hold the reset button for at least one second. An ACKNOWLEDGED message will appear when the system has been reset.
Turn the key to LOCK/OFF. [/ol]
If the CHANGE OIL SOON message comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Thank you, I wish I did get an owners manual with the car when I purchased it 2 years ago, however, I do not have an info or reset button, so this won't work. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

try turning the key on(engine off), and depress the gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds, the oil light should flash then go out

Sgt. Hall...

My mother's 2005 has the info and reset buttons. There actually on the radio, so if you looked elsewhere, you didn't find them. (Silly huh?)

The 2005 Classics have a different style than the other model Malibus. I found this online & it is for a 2004 Impala but that has the same radio as the 2005 Classic:

"start the car turn off the radio push and hold the disp button till it says system menu then click the seek button till you get to oil life then click one and click again to comfrim and also go thru the rest of the menu to see what options your impala has its cool." Hope this helps
