2005 Malibu Maxx LS 3.5L V6 parts quote
My dad's 2005 Malibu Maxx LS 3.5L V6 has a bad rack and pinion with outer tie rod ends, and the suspension (shocks, struts, and springs) are worn to the bone.
When we got front tires for his car, they gave us a $2,000 quote for the steering and suspension repairs, excluding the sway bar and controller arms. I was looking on Rockauto.com for new suspension and some steering (no new rack and pinions that are electric, only hydraulic) and it would cost me $497.04 after taxes and S&H ($446.93 for the parts, $21.98 for S&H, and $28.13 MI tax) for almost everything.
Are remanufactured rack and pinions worth it or not really? If I get a remanufactured rack and pinion from Rockauto, it'll be $833.89 after tax, shipping, and core price ($645.72 for the parts, $100 for the core, $40.97 shipping, and $47.20 MI tax). Also, my dad knows someone that can do all of that and it'll be possibly $100 in labor or more, depending on how much it's a pain to replace said parts).
Edit: bought a set of cotter pins (90-pc) for $9.92 along with a rack and pinion + all 4 tie rod ends (2 inner, 2 outer) for $149.30 for the car. Awaiting upon the arrival of the parts and they will be installed. Reason I bought cotter pins is in case the new steering components (rack and pinion + 4 tie rod ends) doesn't come with them.

Got a new rack and pinion with tie rods from Detroit Axle on Christmas Eve and got them installed on the following Sunday (Dec. 29th) and got it almost all done, except the outer tie rod ends were too long and the inner toe was too far left or right, and the outer toe was too far out left or right. My dad got the alignment done on Dec. 31st as the shop my friend dropped it off at was closed on Monday, Dec. 30th due to a power outage (strong winds that day), so $95 for correct outer tie rods and alignment later, the steering is a lot better than it was. Getting the rack and pinion out was a pain in the butt because one bolt that mounts the transmission (only bolt) was in the way, so after removing it, then sliding in the new one and putting the bolt back in, everything else went in easier than before.

The offer is quite interesting, I like it, but still there is one drawback in this whole case. The last time I tried to do this, I needed the help of a specialist because this business is full of risks, which is why I needed https://taxfyle.com/income-tax-return-calculator This is exactly the tool that replaces a few tips and helps you calculate all the details of your loan or loan. It turned out to be very effective for me, I am sure that it will also be useful for you to use this cool creation of humanity
