2005 Malibu Maxx Security
I am a new member. I have a 2005 Malibu Maxx that I bought a couple of weeks ago and was told that the fuel pump was bad. The car will start for a couple of seconds and shut down. I have learned that the security system light will not allow the fuel injectors work. I towed the car to a local locksmith and was told the key was fine
but the security system was locking me out. I have replaced battery, checked all fuses and tried the relearn several times but I cannot get the security light out. Can someone point me in the right direction please? The locksmith also told me that if the car would crank for a few seconds that the security was not the problem

Does anyone know if the security can be bypassed long enough so that I can check out the rest of the car? My ignition switch only has a small green plug in. I was hoping that I might be able to trick the BCM

It is staying on. When the engine shuts down the light flashes 3 times and then goes back solid. The car will start for around 3 seconds and then shut down. I can spray starting fluid and get it to run longer. Any suggestions? Thanks

that is a code for the system being in key learn mode. did you do a theft deterrent relearn? have you tried a second key?
the code should go stored after the ignition is cycled off. clear it out. try to start it and see what resets.

I only have 1 key that was made at the dealership. I have tried the relearn several times with no luck. A locksmith tried to reset it but he could not either. I am at a loss. I am told it could be a bad BCM, Bad ignition switch, bad key and cylinder, or a bad ECM. Any suggestions would be appreciated to narrow the problem

I can clear it but it comes right back. I went out to car and pulled the history codes and B3031 B3055 U2105 and B1325 came up I have not looked them up yet. I have the old snap on and it is slow to respond. Plus I am not too good at moving around with the scanner. Will a newer model scanner reprogram a key? If so can you tell me the model I would need? Thanks for your help
