2008-2012 Malibu Headlight Upgrade
Alright, my friend has a 2009 Malibu that he bought about three years ago. Multiple times per year, he has a headlight go out (not the same one every time). This is generally annoying in the first place because it's so frequent, but given the lengthy process required to access the headlights in these cars, it's a pretty big problem. It's often not even the bulb, but just a poor connection that's fixed by wiggling the connector (after tearing everything apart). Tired of dealing with this over and over, he replaced the wiring, sockets, and bulbs a few months ago. But, surprise surprise, one of the headlights just went out again.
If it were my car, at this point I'd just bust out the front of the housings and stick a couple traditional H5006 sealed beams in there and call it a day, but a more elegant solution would be preferred. With how annoying these bulbs are to change, I'm sure that there must be some sort of "easy swap" aftermarket housing you can buy for this car. I'm not sure what keywords to Google to get there, though. (I just keep getting blacked-out aftermarket lenses, which is not helpful.) Can someone point me toward the right product to make this car more consumer-friendly?
