Serviced my trans today, changed fluid and tried to change filter, got 2 filters for car from parts source. After taking front cover off trans only found valve body? Is there no filter in this trans? I can't find a correct answer. I called my Chevy dealer and was told no filter in trans just an internal screen to catch larger debris. does any tech out there have any advice? Thanks len24

 

If the trans. is similar to the Equinox the dealer is right. The filter is designed to be changed only when trans. is rebuilt. They recommend fluid be flushed . Have read pros and cons on this such as not all fluid is replaced with this process and type of machine is important. Had my Nox flushed at 50k for about $180.Hope it helps.
