I'm sorry to hear of the frustration with your Malibu. This issue may be caused by an interference with the antenna cable. This is just a suggestion, not a diagnosis.

My 2012 Malibu LS has the same issue, I went to the service last Friday, and the technician's diagnosis is electronic noise, and told me almost all the model from Chevrolet has this issue and said GM knows about this, but no solution to solve it. He will also report thi issue to GM again. This issue is very critical for me, I will be driving mad by this kind of always lasting noise, I don't believe GM experters can't solve this noise issue, the only reason maybe the high cost or nobody care about this, I hope the GM could pay attention to this issue and figure out a solution ASAP, I don't know how long I can stand......

 

I just got new 2012 malibu two weeks ago have not hear any high pinch sounds.
but my ipod does not work says device not supported it work fine in the 2010 equinox I traded in for it?

Older iPod's that are not supported can still be used by connecting it to the 3.5mm (1/8 in) auxiliary input jack using a 3.5mm (1/8 in) cable.
