Hey all!
I have a 2015 Malibu and both the key fob button and the exterior trunk open button on the lid will not open the trunk. When I push the key fob button I can hear it clicking in the dash but it won’t open. There’s no way to open the trunk except to crawl thru from the back seat and reach the emergency trunk release handle. Getting real annoying. I took out the manual and checked the applicable fuses but they all looked good. Any ideas to fix it would thrill my soul. 🌠🌠

Will the trunk open with the key ON, engine off? I have had a similar issue with my 2015 Malibu. But I changed the trunk lid lock. Once you can get the trunk open, you'll need to install a new locking latch. Probably more junk make in Asia, but we can't change that yet.

Here is a link to a GM latch for your 2015 Chevy Malibu. You can find cheaper one's, but this is a GM unit made of metal not plastic. Put lithium grease on the latch. You can buy a small amount, at any major car parts store:
