I have a 1998 chevy malibu and coolant is leaking from the car. I know where the leak is but I don't know what part it is. In the attached picture the leak is occurring where the cream colored reservoir touches the dark green part of the car. When i move the reservoir around a little bit, I can see it leaking a little bit right at that point. What would that be? It looks like it shouldn't be too big of a deal to fix but I just need to know what it is.

 

Apparently the coolant recovery tank is leaking. As you stated it is not difficult to change. These tend to get brittle and crack with age.
