Hi I just have a 99 malibu 3.1L engine w/ no warning the drive went on
only reverse works fine any ideas that can help me with this problem

 

ask around, at a lot of places and people, find out who is the most reputable trans shop, get it in and have them check the TCM for error codes, My GTP started shifting sluggish, turned out to be a bad solenoid $600 later I was up and running. that sounds like a lot, but he did have to drop the trans out to get to it. most fly-by-night operations will try to stiff you for a rebuild, when it is a simple fix, and they do not rebuild yours.
