Default Access Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system 2004 Maxx

I've seen a lot of posts asking how to remove radios, can anyone give me information about how to access/remove the DVD player from the center console, also known as the Rear Seat Entertainment system?

I just bought a new (used) 2004 Malibu Maxx and all we hear from the speakers is crackling noises. We hear the exact same thing from the wireless headphones and on headphones which we plug in to the jack. I'm thinking if I can check for a loose wire or something, it might be an easy fix. Knowing my luck though...

Thanks
KD

In the first picture you see a plate that just prys off.....when you take the sreen off...check the wiring, they are notorious for chaffing there
