Default Crank position sensor 2004 malibu 3.5

Getting a code PO335 tried using my techII but it does not reconize the 3.5. It has all the updates for the last 3 years. So I am looking for the sensor not above the starter everything I find says it should be there or to the left of the harmonic balancer. Anyone ever replaced the crank position sensor on a 2004 3.5, looking for advice thanks.

I found the sensor it is on the firewall side of the block, just below where the exhaust manifold meets the exhaust pipe. The way I removed mine was to removed the air-box, then the alternator. Then I had to remove the exhaut heat shield, then I was able to remove the sensor using a 10 mm socket.
