Default How to replace A/C Control Module on a '03 Malibu

I'm faced with replacing my A/C control module on my '03 Malibu, yet again. The first time was under warranty at 29,300. Now I have 91,000 on the odometer and it's on the fritz again. I'm pretty good w/ a wrench so I was wondering how difficult it would be to replace something like this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the control unit and clean the contacts in the control unit (the fan speed switch)and it will work like new.

Ken5599,

Thank you very much for the info. To be clear, my A/C works. The compressor just switches on and off intermittently as well as the vent position switching from recycled air mode to outside air on its own. Removing the A/C control panel and cleaning the contacts on the fan speed switch will remedy this?

I had the same problem where I had to slap the dash to get it to go on several times an hour. I removed it from the dash and put #2 graphite pencil on the copper contacts behind the switches. (circular contacts.) It worked!!! Saved sever hundred dollars on buying many "recommended" parts. Service dealer:0 Me:1
