Default Installing serpetine belt on 1997 Chevy Malibu

I have a 1997 Chevy Malibu. The serpetine belt broke. I tried to replace it and the motor mounts gets in the way. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to route the belt to clear the motor mount?

Default RE: Installing serpetine belt on 1997 Chevy Malibu

Im sure you got it fixed by now but I had a 2000 pontiac grand am with the 3.4 V6. I believe the pontiac grand am and the malibu was on the same chassis. When I changed the the belt, I had to support the bottom of the engine with a floor jack, remove those motor mount bolts that get in the way and slowly lower the engine just enough to slip the new belt through, then raise the motor back. I think there is two boltsthat you have totake offand they are easy to get to. Thats how I got it done.
