Default Same issue on 2013 Malibu.

I will say that the car seems to idle rough at a stop and when in drive but doesn't stall so I'm going to repair the upstream 02 sensor to rule that out as well. I'll keep y'all updated I've just been busy lately, i'm going to make more time for the forum!
Is there any update on the statute of your Malibu. I am having a similar issue on my 2013 where I will get up stoplights and the car will stutter at 500-600 RPM and then stall if I leave it in drive. If I shift to neutral it bumps up to 750 and I have no issues. Car has only 80k on it. I am getting no engine light. I cleaned the MAF and the issues persist. I have also seen people say that replacing the ECM solves the issue but don’t want to go down that rode if I can help it.

Subscribing, I'm having the same exact issues with my 2013 2.5L. Took it to the dealership, they said it was my transmission. I figured okay, kind of makes sense since it has 198k miles on it! Went to the junkyard, found one with 33k miles on it. Swapped fluids, gaskets and TCM (pulled from my original) figured it would save me from having to take it back to the dealer to reprogram. Nope, same issue but at least it shifts a whole lot better now! I'm going to take it to a buddy of mine that said he can reprogram the PCM and ECM with the stock tune and see what happens. I'll update tomorrow!

Same issue here took it to the dealership and they could not figure it out.. they had it for a week and could not get it to misbehave since the car would drive perfect for a while then act up again.. they did find a recall service bulletin for grounded wires but the tech performed a voltage dropped and he said it was good. I believed since it is a GDI engine the issue could lie within the carbon build up in the valves.. overall had them clean the carbon build up. Car seemed to drive smoother it has now been a week exactly since I got it back and it just stalled out today when coming to a stop. I tool a video of the vehicle stalling out as I put it in gear turned the steering wheel and it shut off which was very weird when put under load of the steering wheel being turned it shut off but could not be the issue. Seems we all have the same issue with same year and model vehicle.

it’s crazy we are all having this same issue yet no one can find the problem and it has not been recalled.. how is this fair?

Drives completely fine when not stopping. It only does it sometimes, but when it starts doing it doesn't stop when you continually drive it. If I throw it in neutral before I stop it wont stall. Problem is NO CODES! It's my girlfriends car and we have had it 5 months, when we got it, it had a pile of codes, P2097 Generic Current Post Catalyst Fuel trim system to rich, P228D Not Found in Database, and Evap codes P0446 and P0442. I took a day soaked the o2 sensors in gas and cleaned throttle body and air sensors, erased codes and they never came back to this day, but still my stall issue continues, I also replaced the throttle body for the heck of it, still stalling continues. Advice?! Thanks!
Did you try contacting your mechanic? Happened to me a few times, but with a newer model

Default Same 2013 2.5l problems

I have the same malibu, same problems. Also just had the timing chain, and all that jazz inside replaced. My mechanic can't figure out what the issue is for it either and has had it twice now. Dropping it back off to him today.
